Seasons for Healing (Dubbo)

Run by Good Grief, Seasons for Healing is a culturally appropriate small group education program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults who are managing experiences of change, loss and grief.
Introduction to Sandplay Therapy (Dubbo) - FULLY BOOKED
When: 9:30am to 4pm on 26 March 2021
Where: NALAG Dubbo Branch (7 Welchman Street, Dubbo)
Cost: $250 per person
Sandplay Therapy is a play-based technique that is a valuable and powerful tool for counsellors. Sandplay is a healing tool which opens the window into the psyche, accessing unconscious material and making it conscious by giving it form. This workshop will focus significantly on experiential learning and interactive participation.

Accidental Counsellor (Online)
When: 9:30am to 12:30pm on 14 and 15 April 2021
Where: Online via ZOOM
Cost: $250 per person
This interactive course aims to develop the knowledge and skills of human services workers to effectively support people who are distressed. The course is aimed at those who are not trained counsellors and who are not in counselling roles, however frequently find themselves having to use counselling skills due to the nature of their roles.
Suicide Awareness and Prevention (Dubbo)

Through this workshop, you will gain a greater understanding of the prevalence of suicide in Australia, learn how to identify individuals at risk, be aware of suicidal behaviour and understand prevention options.

Group sessions to support children and young people (6-13yrs) experiencing loss. Seasons for Growth, developed by Good Grief, incorporates a wide range of age-appropriate activities involving drawing, role-play, stories, discussion, playdough, music and journal activities.
Bereavement Support Group (Taree)

The Taree Bereavement Support Group meets on the second Tuesday of every month. It is an open group, facilitated by an experienced Counsellor, and suitable for anyone who has suffered the death of a loved one. Participating in a bereavement support group can help you to normalise the grief journey and reduce feelings of isolation as you listen and share personal experiences with others.
Promoting Resilience in Older People Workshop (North Sydney)

What makes older people resilient? Why are some people ageing with a great sense of freedom and others with a sense of despair? This one-day workshop - based on a strength-based approach - will explore these questions and identify strategies that promote a culture of resilience as you provide support for older people. The workshop presenter, Beate Steller, will share her extensive knowledge, clinical experience and practical approaches and methods throughout the day including the Tech – Connect – Staying Meaningfully Connected in Aged Care program that she developed.
