Basic Loss and Grief Support Training (Multiple Locations)

An introductory course, equipping participants with the skills required to effectively support someone who is grieving. This course is suited to people of all backgrounds and occupations, and is mandatory training for NALAG Grief Support volunteers. The course can be delivered via Weekend Mode (two full days) or Evening Mode (four evening sessions).

The Taree Bereavement Support Group meets on the second Tuesday of every month. It is an open group, facilitated by an experienced Counsellor, and suitable for anyone who has suffered the death of a loved one. Participating in a bereavement support group can help you to normalise the grief journey and reduce feelings of isolation as you listen and share personal experiences with others.

Following the success of the Family Matters workshops in Narromine and Parkes in 2019, NALAG's Our Shout Program is pleased to once again host this one-day event in Condobolin, Bourke and Coonamble, which aims to help family businesses negotiate succession with increased clarity, calm and consideration. The workshop presenters, including James Hamilton (Family Succession Advisor), Claire Booth (Solicitor) and a panel of industry professionals, will provide valuable tips and tools to assist you in creating choice, hope and options for your family business in the face of adversity.

Develop skills and improve the safety of your farm or rural workplace by enrolling in this one-day First Aid training course, delivered by an accredited Red Cross Trainer.

Blue Healers (Maitland)

The Blue Healers program aims to help people manage mild to moderate depression, stress and anxiety, and develop learning strategies for coping. Blue Healers is a group program developed by NALAG and presented by trained facilitators.

Seasons for Growth (Dubbo)

Group sessions to support children and young people (6-13yrs) experiencing loss. Seasons for Growth, developed by Good Grief, incorporates a wide range of age-appropriate activities involving drawing, role-play, stories, discussion, playdough, music and journal activities.

Walk Towards Hope (Multiple Locations)

The Walk Towards Hope is an annual community event which aims to enhance awareness of support services available to those touched by suicide. The event includes a remembering ceremony and is a way of helping to build resilient communities, working together to prevent suicide.

NALAG NSW will host a remembrance ceremony on Thursday 15 October 2020 at NALAG Dubbo to commemorate all the special little lives lost too soon. Attendees will have an opportunity to light a commemorative candle in memory of loved ones and pay a visit to the ‘Babies Garden’, followed by light refreshments at twilight.
