Basic Loss & Grief Support Training

When: Online from 9:30am–12:30pm on 30 July, 31 July and 1 August 2021 + Follow up Face-to-Face from 9:30am–4:30pm on 30 August 2021

Where: Online via Zoom + Face-to-Face at Albert Meyer Funerals (301 Pennant Hills Road, Thornleigh)

Cost: $250 per person

Learn the skills necessary to provide basic loss and grief support over the phone to people traversing the experience of grief.

Trauma Informed Workshop

When: 9:30am–12:30pm on 11 & 12 August 2021

Where: Online via Zoom

Cost: $250 per person

Learn the skills necessary to understand the types and prevalence of trauma, trauma related behaviour and approaches that support child safety and avoid re-traumatisation. This course is designed for anyone who works in an educational setting, for example: school teachers, school counsellors, principals, school administration staff.

Accidental Counsellor

Where: Online (held via Zoom)

Cost: $250 per person

This interactive course aims to develop the knowledge and skills of human services workers to effectively support people who are distressed. The course is aimed at those who are not trained counsellors and who are not in counselling roles, however frequently find themselves having to use counselling skills due to the nature of their roles.

Seasons for Growth 

When: The next program is scheduled to commence the week starting 19 July (Week 2 of Term 3) pending numbers.

Where: NALAG Dubbo (7 Welchman Street, Dubbo)

Cost: Free

Group sessions to support children and young people (6-13yrs) experiencing loss. Seasons for Growth, developed by Good Grief, incorporates a wide range of age-appropriate activities involving drawing, role-play, stories, discussion, playdough, music and journal activities.

Child Grief and Trauma – Working Creatively with Children

This training provides an understanding of Crisis, Trauma, Loss & Grief for children aged 5-12 years and explores children's responses to these events and emotions. You will explore a range of tools to engage children to tell their story and express themselves to promote healing.

Sandplay Therapy is a play-based technique that is a valuable and powerful tool for counsellors. Sandplay is a healing tool which opens the window into the psyche, accessing unconscious material and making it conscious by giving it form. This workshop will focus significantly on experiential learning and interactive participation.
