Formed in 1977, NALAG NSW has grown to become NSW's leading provider of support and education for communities, families and individuals impacted by loss, grief and trauma.

Grief Support

What is Grief?

Grief is our reaction to loss. Someone who has experienced a loss can feel like being lost in a maze of conflicting emotions. This is normal following significant loss. Some examples of significant losses are the death of a loved one, miscarriage, abortion, relationship breakdown, the death of a pet, caring for someone with a life threatening illness, as well as the loss of a job, home, identity or independence.

NALAG NSW provides a free grief support service across NSW, delivered by our team of trained volunteers and staff.  While we are not a crisis service, we do have trained volunteers who are available and able to provide support to you. If you would like to talk to one of our team, please contact us by telephone on 02 6882 9222, or simply complete the ‘Client Enquiry Form’ below (a NALAG team member will receive your form and contact you within 2 business days).

Health professionals and agencies: If you would like to refer a client, please download the ‘Agency Referral Form’ below.

Please note: NALAG NSW does not provide a crisis service. If you or someone you know needs urgent support, please contact a crisis support service, such as beyondblue on 1300 22 46 36, Lifeline on 13 11 14, or 000 in an emergency.
